Educational institutions to get goods worth 60 million lei

Chisinau, July 19. /MOLDPRES/- Goods worth about 60 million lei (3 million euros) will be transferred to the management of several educational institutions in the country. Government took the decision today.
The donation includes computers, laptops, web cameras, interactive whiteboards, printers, speakers, laboratory equipment, musical instruments, projectors, other educational sets. Some of the goods were purchased under the Education Reform in Moldova (PRIM) project, and others were received as donations offered by partners from Romania, the Republic of Korea, Switzerland and the UNICEF Office in Chisinau.
According to the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC), through the PRIM project, special equipment was purchased for physics, biology, chemistry laboratories for 160 general secondary education institutions. The Republic of Korea previously donated, based on a memorandum signed with MEC, 340 computers, 51 sets consisting of tablet PCs, keyboards and wireless headphones, as well as 98 textbooks. Another 100 laptops, 20 printers, 20 interactive tablets, which reached the schools, represent a donation from Romania. At the same time, the Swiss partners donated musical instruments for educational institutions with an arts profile.
To ensure access to online education for children in Ukraine, UNICEF donated 950 laptops to create ICT spaces in 67 general and extracurricular education institutions.
