Moldovan premier says local economy develops through backing entrepreneurial spirit, support of business environment

Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet’s continuous openness for an efficient cooperation with the local authorities, in order to solve the citizens’ problems and achieve the goal of the country’s European integration has been reconfirmed at a meeting of Prime Minister Dorin Recean with representatives of local public authorities and de-concentrated services of the northern Rascani district, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
„We will provide the mayors, in continuation, with useful instruments for the settlement of problems in settlements and their development. We focus on the modernization of the rural infrastructure through such programmes as European Village, on the support of entrepreneurs who grow our communities and we rely on your involvement to edify Europe in each village and town. The local economy develops through the support of the entrepreneurial spirit and actions of support of the business environment,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
Dorin Recean noted that the Finance Ministry had restructured the financial means and got good interests and starting from the next week, the financings will be de-blocked within the projects carried out through regional development programmes.
At the same time, the PM emphasized the role of the local public administration in the process of facilitating citizens’ access to public services, as well as in the process of reforming the social assistance system. ‘’The system must better target the real beneficiaries and we should not forget that the best economic and social reform is the providing of a well-paid job.’’
The local authorities and representatives of the de-concentrated services referred to the possibility to take over the management of the plots of land adjacent to the Prut river bank, in order to ensure the public order and maintain the zone. Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that a coordination meeting would be held next week, during which this issue will be cleared up: ‘’The goal is for the beaches to be used efficiently, for the benefit of the citizens and the local administrations should be able to collect extra financial resources from the tourist activity.’’
Also, the participants in the meeting discussed such subjects as the lack of teachers, demographic crisis, as well as the low number of pupils in schools, insufficiency of medical staff, the need to enhance the capacities of funds’ assimilation and rehabilitation of local roads.
