USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu" to cooperate with relevant institutions from Czech Republic

Chisinau, July 21. /MOLDPRES/- A delegation from Charles University in Prague, the Czech Republic, spent two days at "Nicolae Testemițanu" State University of Medicine and Pharmacy to get familiar with the specifics of the institution's activity, especially the medical education through simulation and scientific research.
According to rector of USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu" Emil Ceban, the institution is willing for cooperation with specialized institutions from the Czech Republic in various areas of activity. Among them could be updating university curricula in some subjects, creating opportunities for academic mobility, training, exchange of experience between medical specialists or students, as well as initiating investment projects on development of university infrastructure.
Deputy Director of the Experimental Physiology Lab, Head of the Medical Simulation Center Mlcek Mikulas said that at the moment two directions of cooperation are identified, the first being the integration of simulation in medical education.
Under the project on the simulation component, the Czech partners proposed to pay mutual visits to Charles University, and at the end of the project - to organize a training seminar for the implementation of simulation in medical education.
The second part of the collaboration is aimed at research, mainly in cardiology, intensive and translational therapy. Five PhD students could go to Charles University for a period of one month, the costs being fully covered by the project. In October 2023, three other mechanical ventilation specialists will be able to participate in a conference, due in Prague, where experts from all over the world will take part to share their experience and best practices in the field.
Cooperation with relevant institutions from the Czech Republic is initiated in the context of the pre-accession process of the Republic of Moldova to the EU, and the necessary support will be provided to USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu" through a European grant program.
