Chisinau, July 21. /MOLDPRES/- The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) records a continuous increase in the international Platts quotations for petrol and diesel fuel, which causes the price increase for the retail sale of fuels. Thus, at the end of the week, the petrol price will reach the threshold of 25 lei per liter, and that of diesel will exceed 21 lei.
According to Reuters, oil supply cuts from Saudi Arabia and Russia triggered a rebound in prices this month. The agency reiterates that in early July, Riyadh said it would extend a voluntary production cut of 1 million barrels per day (bpd) until August, while the Russian Federation decided it would cut exports by 500,000 barrels per day. At the same time, the Ministry of Energy in Moscow announced a decrease in exports by 2.1 million tons in the third quarter of 2023. These supply constraints are already felt in stocks on foreign markets, which puts additional pressure on prices," a press release of ANRE reads.
Under these conditions, for the next three days, ANRE has set a maximum price for COR 95 petrol of 25 lei, up by 0.11 lei. At the same time, diesel fuel will be sold at a maximum of 21.04 lei per liter, up by 0.07 lei.
