Moldovan speaker talked to EBRD president

Chisinau, July 25. /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu spoke with President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso, on a visit to Moldova, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
Grosu said that EBRD continues to be a reliable partner of the Republic of Moldova, especially through support programs for entrepreneurs, strengthening our country's energy independence, as well as through large infrastructure investments. With the EBRD's contribution, about a fourth of our country's railway is being rehabilitated, on Tighina - Basarabeasca - Giurgiulesti section, and these days two sectors of the M3 highway will be put into operation: Chisinau - Comrat - Giurgiulesti - the border with Romania. "I am glad that through the new country strategy for Moldova for 2023-2028, approved by the EBRD this February, our country will be able to continue projects to strengthen energy security, promote renewable energy, strengthen the financial system and national infrastructure," Grosu said.
He informed EBRD president about the government's efforts to return to economic growth this year, by supporting entrepreneurs, digitizing and debureaucratizing the business environment, processes that would attract new investments to our country. "The current government is engaged in an ambitious reform program, which must culminate with our country's approach to the EU," he said.
