Russian Ambassador to Chisinau summoned to foreign ministry to provide explanations on Russia's spying actions in Moldova

Chisinau, July 25. /MOLDPRES/- Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Chisinau Oleg Vasnetsov will be summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE) to be asked for explanations on the espionage actions of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova. The diplomat is summoned following the publication of a journalistic investigation.

MAEIE said that in close coordination with other competent institutions, it is analyzing the nature and extent of these espionage actions, including the activity of the persons mentioned in the investigation, in order to respond adequately and promptly to the situation.

"We consider absolutely unacceptable any actions of espionage and foreign interference in the internal affairs of the Republic of Moldova, which represent a direct challenge to the sovereignty and national security of our state. The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Chisinau will be summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide clarifications and explanations regarding the created situation. Depending on further developments, the authorities of the Republic of Moldova will analyze several reaction options", said the MAEIE.

A local TV channel published yesterday a journalistic investigation on the existence of a reception system on the roof of the Russian Embassy in Chisinau. Several people were presented who would be involved in espionage in our country.
