Moldovan citizen dies in the wake of aviation accident in Sudan

Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ - A citizen of Moldova has died in the wake of an aviation accident in Sudan.

Representatives of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) confirmed the information for MOLDPRES.

„We confirm the fact that a citizen of Moldova died in the wake of an aviation accident in Sudan. His relatives asked for assistance for the body’s repatriation,’’ the quoted source said.

MAEIE’s representatives said that consular decision-makers of the ministry took efforts needed to provide assistance in this case.

The aviation accident occurred on 23 July evening. The aircraft crashed on the airport of Port Sudan. Nine people, among whom four soldiers, died in the wake of the accident. A child remained alive.
