Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - The high-tonnage transport means will be banned from moving on the Moldovan capital’s streets in the time interval 8:00-21:00. The Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE) of the Chisinau city took a decision to this effect today.
According to the national authorities, given that there is a period of hot weather and the air temperatures increase up to +38-+40 Celsius degrees during the day, the high-tonnage transport means which cross Chisinau hit the asphalt of the roadway.
At the same time, the General Police Inspectorate has earlier said that, during days with air temperatures higher than +30 Celsius degrees, the vehicles with a weight of more than 20 tons are banned from moving on certain national roads. The restrictions do not regard the passenger transport, the vehicles which carry food products, materials for the prevention or liquidation of emergency situations. Road signs are set on roads, through which drivers are warned about the ban.
The State Hydrometeorological Service informed about a yellow code of hot weather in the northern region of Moldova and orange code of hot weather for the central and southern regions. According to meteorologists, the maximal air temperature will reach +39 Celsius degrees.
