Chisinau, July 27. /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu had a meeting with Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Moldova Kent Longsdon, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
The officials discussed our country's European integration and the parliamentary agenda. "In the recent visit to the USA, the Moldovan delegation felt all support and friendship our country enjoys from this country. I was happy to learn that the Republic of Moldova is increasingly mentioned in the USA as a model country that is moving forward on the path of democratization. We will continue on this path, to justify the trust that the citizens and development partners have given us", he said.
Grosu informed the American diplomat that the parliament is going to ratify, in the second reading, the 15th Amendment to the development objective assistance agreement between the Moldovan and U.S. governments. The grant worth 220 million dollars from the U.S. will be used for investments in the energy sector.
"I thank the U.S. Government for the constant help it provides to our country," Grosu said.
