Chisinau, July 28. /MOLDPRES/- The head of Moldovan diplomacy, Nicu Popescu, had a videoconference discussion with a group of experts on EU institutional reforms. The group was set up following the initiative of the Foreign Ministries of France and Germany, aimed at reflecting on the future of the EU, especially in the context of the expansion of the community bloc through the accession of new states, including the Republic of Moldova, the MAEIE press service has reported.
The official reported Moldova's vision on a larger community block and the necessary institutional reforms within the EU.
"We stressed the importance of speeding up our integration into the EU, based on the progress we are making in the accession process. Our joint efforts and the reforms we are implementing are bring us closer and closer to this crucial goal for the Republic of Moldova.
We also highlighted the measures we have taken to counter various hybrid threats, which have intensified following the Russian Federation's brutal invasion of Ukraine. It is more obvious than ever that a safer Europe can be achieved by including Moldova and Ukraine in the big European family", said Popescu.
