High-voltage power line to connect Balti city with Suceava county

Chisinau, Aug. 1 /MOLDPRES/- Balti city is to be connected to a 400 KV high voltage power line with Suceava city in Romania. Moldelectrica state-owned enetrprise received approval from the Environment Agency for conducting public consultations on environmental impact plan, along with the construction of this line.
According to Moldelectrica, the construction of the high-voltage power line that will connect Balti with Suceava across the Prut represents "an important and strategic initiative for the development of interconnections with Romania".
"This high-voltage electrical interconnection aims to improve the region's energy infrastructure and facilitate energy exchange between the two countries. Before obtaining the approval of the Environment Agency, Moldelectrica has developed a feasibility study and carried out thorough environmental and social impact assessments to ensure that the project will be implemented in accordance with the highest quality and sustainability standards", says Moldelectrica.
Moldelectrica company aims to collaborate "more closely with local authorities, community representatives and other interested parties to identify the best solutions and to address concerns or questions that may arise during public consultations" and at the same time, invites "all parties interested in actively participating in public debates".
Public consultations are expected to be held this October.
