Over 3,300 slate sheets arrived in Soroca, Edineț affected by bad weather

Chisinau, Aug. 3 /MOLDPRES/- A new batch of aid with construction materials arrived today in Soroca and another batch is to arrive in the localities of the Edineț district affected by the bad weather of July 25-26.

According to IGSU, rescuers continue to transport and deliver material goods to the households of people whose homes were destroyed by the strong wind and heavy rain. In the morning of August 3, 6 technical units of the IGSU and 7 of the Armed Forces, loaded with 3345 slate sheets headed for Soroca and Edineț. Here, the construction materials will be distributed to the inhabitants for the repair works of the houses, as well as the public buildings.

Also, the firefighters, carabinieri, but also the employees of the National Army will help the elderly to repair the houses, which were destroyed by the bad weather recorded last month.

So far, 12,975 slate sheets and 240.7 m3 of timber have been distributed in Edineț and Dondușeni. Starting from July 28, according to the decision of the Commission for Emergency Situations, the Government provides material aid to the 74 localities in six districts of the country that have been affected by the bad weather of July 25-26.
