About 95 percent of former patentees switched to new form of activity within two months of reform's launch

Chisinau, 15 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- About 95 percent of the former patent holders switched to another form of activity in more than two months after the reform came into force. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba and State Tax Service (SFS) head Petru Rotaru presented the figures today.
"From the information updated yesterday, out of the 4,202 former patentees, 3,526 have switched to an independent activity regime. Some of the remaining ones have gone into either limited liability company or sole proprietorship and continue to work. To date, 3,445 people have applied for reimbursement. Of them, 3183 have already received the money. The state has invested over 20 million lei (1 million euros) in these entrepreneurs," said Dumitru Alaiba.
Petru Rotaru said that in the last two months, tax employees were involved in an extensive program of voluntary compliance of people who carried out patent-based activity. According to the official, in some districts such as Florești, Ialoveni, Leova, Soroca, Fălești and Ungheni, the compliance rate is over 95 percent. However, there are also districts with a lower compliance rate, including Edineț, Orhei, Căușeni, Briceni, Bălți municipality.
As of July 1, retail trade activity at stalls, counters, booths, in kiosks, pavilions and from vehicles, as well as trade in domestic food products and perishable goods is no longer allowed under the patent.
