Webpages of Moldova's state institutions in mourning tones today

Chisinau, 16 September /MOLDPRES/ - The webpages of the Government, Presidency, Parliament and other public institutions today are in mourning tones, as a token of the deep respect for the great departed President Mircea Snegur.

„In mourning tones, we pay a solemn homage to the first president of the Republic of Moldova, Mircea Snegur – the architect of our independence. With collectedness and gratitude, we recall the significant contribution to the creation of the independent and sovereign state Republic of Moldova,’’ the spokesman for the government, Daniel Voda, said.

„Rest in peace, Mr. President Mircea Snegur,’’ Daniel Voda also said.

The day of 16 September is declared day of national mourning, as a token of commemoration of the first head of state, Mircea Snegur. The first president of the Republic of Moldova, Mircea Snegur, died on 13 September evening at the age of 83 years.
