Chisinau, 18 September /MOLDPRES/ - Head of the Border Police Rosian Vasiloi has been recognized as suspect in the committing of the offence of negligence at work in the case of the double murder which occurred at the Chisinau Airport.
Rosian Vasiloi stressed that he had been informed, through an ordinance, issued by the prosecutor at large from the Prosecutor General’s Office, on 15 September this year.
„The prosecutor did not deem as necessary my temporary suspension from office. Nevertheless, I deemed as correct and in the interest of transparency, to immediately inform the interior minister about the assigning of the procedural capacity of suspect within the criminal file. In my capacity of head of the institution and having the post of officer, I strongly believe that it is essential for one to contribute for the criminal prosecution body to collect all evidence and carry out the criminal prosecution, in order to clear up all circumstances of the cause and the charges brought,’’ Rosian Vasiloi said in a message published on a social network.
The official noted that he would present a report and would ask for the providing of an unpaid leave for a period of more than 30 days. ‘’I commit, in continuation, to fully cooperate with the criminal prosecution body and to answer with dignity and hour, so that the truth is established and I confirm the confidence in the post of officer, which I has always honoured,’’ Rosian Vasiloi added.
Two persons – one border policeman and an employee of the Airport’s security – died at the Chisinau International Airport on 30 June evening, after they had been shot by a foreign citizen, who was banned from entering Moldova. In the wake of the incident, the state’s authorities started more workplace investigations, in order to establish all circumstances of the case.
