Seventy seven pupils, students of Moldova to receive merit scholarships this year

Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/ - Seventy seven pupils and students will receive merit scholarships during the current academic year. They will be provided for backing the academic performances and young people’s active involvement in extra-curricular social activities, as well as in the ones of scientific research, conferences, contests, exhibitions. The cabinet approved a decision to this effect today.
Thus, 12 young people will receive the Scholarship of the Republic worth 2,030 lei (about 100 euros). This scholarship is meant for students of the cycle I, cycle II, integrated studies, medical and pharmaceutical education in higher education institutions. Another 30 young people will benefit from the Scholarship of the Government, worth 1,690 lei.
Ten students of the cycle, I, cycle II, higher integrated studies, medical and pharmaceutical education in higher education institutions will get the Scholarship of Moldova’s President. Another five scholarships of the head of state will be provided to pupils of the post-secondary and post-secondary non-tertiary vocational education institutions. In the case of the first category, the scholarship’s value will be of 1,845 lei and for the second category – 1,430 lei.
The Gaudeamus Scholarship, worth 1,230 lei, will be provided to 20 pupils of post-secondary and post-secondary non-tertiary vocational education institutions.
Students and pupils who during the previous academic year got an average mark at the summer session not lower than 9 at the technical, agrarian, economic, medical military, law fields and an average mark not lower than 9.5 in other education sectors ran for the merit scholarships.
According to the Education and Research Ministry, higher education institutions submitted 88 files and vocational schools – 43 files for the competition of the 2023-2024 academic year.
