Moldovan deputy premier meets UN representatives

Chisinau, 22 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian had a meeting today with representatives of the United Nation Joint Programme's Reflection and Learning Mission to Moldova (RLM) based in New York, Ilona Lecerf, Aycan Akdeniz, David Newton, who are on a study visit to Moldova, the Reintegration Policy Office has reported.
The mission is focused on evaluating the UN response to the challenges faced by the Republic of Moldova in 2017-2023, including political instability, the impact of COVID-19 and the war in Ukraine.
The sides exchanged views on the assistance projects implemented in the Republic of Moldova, especially in ensuring respect for human rights, which unfortunately remains a very sensitive one in the Transnistrian region of the country.
Also, the UN representatives were informed about the sectors of intervention that require the support of external partners in this difficult regional period, as well as the full openness of Chisinau to continue the interaction aimed at concrete results for the inhabitants of the two banks of the Dniester.
At the end of the discussions, it was agreed and reconfirmed the need to coordinate actions and approaches on various aspects of common interest, as well as to strengthen various forms of interaction in promoting policies to ensure peace and stability at the internal and regional level.
