Citizens traveling between EU and Moldova to benefit from lower roaming rates

Chisinau, 22 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Citizens traveling between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova will benefit from more affordable roaming rates. This will be possible after the telephone operators signed today the annex that establishes the price ceilings for roaming services.

According to the commitment, starting from January 1, 2024, roaming tariffs will become much more affordable, both European citizens visiting Moldova and Moldovans traveling to Europe benefit from them. The new rates will be applicable until December 31, 2025, with the possibility of extension.

Representatives of the telecommunications companies, OAREC, ANRCETI, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, and the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization were present at the signing ceremony, via video conference.

Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization said that this collaboration marks significant progress, ensuring efficient and more accessible communication for all our citizens, regardless of their place of residence.
