PHOTO Moldpres agency and Embassy of Moldova in Bucharest opened exhibition of unique photos in Romanian Senate

Chisinau, 26 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Bucharest, in collaboration with Moldpres State News Agency and the Romanian Senate opened an exhibition of collection photos in the foyer of the Plenary Hall of the Senate of the Romanian Parliament dedicated to marking Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova and the 33rd anniversary of the Agency's founding.

The exhibition includes over 160 unique images from the digital archive of Moldpres Agency captured by master photojournalists of Moldova Mihai Potârniche, Mihai Vengher, Andrei Mardari, Petru Cazacu, Valerii Corcimari, Igor Zenin. The images were taken in the midst of major political, social, economic and cultural events of the Republic of Moldova.

Via the images, visitors have the opportunity to browse, in imagination, the past of the Republic of Moldova, from the time of independence to the present day. The most recent photos displayed in the exhibition were taken during the European Moldova National Assembly and the European Political Community Summit, which held in Chisinau on June 1, 2023.

Present at the opening of the exhibition, Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Bucharest Victor Chirilă said that throughout the 32 years of our country's independence, Romania has been a faithful friend and brother, unconditionally supporting the Republic of Moldova on its way to freedom, democracy, national dignity and European future. "I am honored to participate in this event to mark together the 32nd anniversary of the declaration of independence of the Republic of Moldova. I take this opportunity to reiterate once again our gratitude to Romania for the constant, consistent and precious support, which helps the Republic of Moldova to face the great challenges and continue the path towards carrying out European dream. Our states are currently going through a very dynamic and fruitful stage of cooperation in the spirit of special and fraternal relations and the strategic partnership that aims to bring the Republic of Moldova into the European Union through Romania and with Romania," said Victor Chirilă.

Attending the event were senators and deputies of the Romanian Parliament, including Andrei Daniel Gheorghe, co-head of the Joint Commission for European integration between the Parliament of Romania and the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Eugen Bejinariu, head of the Joint Standing Committee of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate in the national security, Nicolae Neagu, head of the Committee on budget, finance, banking and capital market of the Romanian Senate, Monica Anisie, head of the Senate Committee on Education, members of the diplomatic staff accredited in Bucharest, representatives of state institutions in Romania, and historians and those interested in the history of the Republic of Moldova, as well as representatives of the Bessarabian Student Organization in Bucharest.

Moldpres has previously organized photo exhibitions in other European cities, including Riga, Brussels and Vilnius, as part of a project carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture.
