President meets Director for Education and Skills at OECD

Chisinau, 26 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu welcomed in Chisinau Andreas Schleicher, Director for Education and Skills, Special Advisor on Education Policy to the Secretary-General at OECD, the presidential press service has reported.
The discussions focused on educational policies in the conditions of the new realities. Andreas Schleicher initiated and developed the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) and other international tools that help transform the education system globally.
The head of state thanked the OECD experts for two evaluation studies on the priority areas of the education system. The conclusions of the studies will guide the efforts to modernize and improve the quality of studies in the Republic of Moldova.
The president said that in the context of the multiple crises we are facing recently, and the evolution of artificial intelligence, the reform of the educational system and its digitization is a priority for our country. The pandemic and the wave of refugees have shown us how important it is to have an education system capable of providing a good education in all circumstances and for all children in our country.
