Petru Rotaru put forward for position of Moldova's finance minister

Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/ - The director of the State Fiscal Inspectorate (SFS), Petru Rotaru, has been put forward for the office of finance minister, given the ending of the mandate of current minister Veronica Sireteanu. Prime Minister Dorin Recean made statements to this effect today.

„Today, I conveyed to President Maia Sandu the proposal on the appointment of Petru Rotaru to the office of finance minister. Petru Rotaru knows quite well the system of public money and proved a good result in his work as head of the State Fiscal Service (SFS),’’ Dorin Recean said.

At the same time, the PM thanked Veronica Sireteanu for the efforts made to ensure and manage the proper financing of the governance’s policies. ‘’We will together continue working, in order to ensure the financial stability and to promote the country’s economic development,’’ the prime minister noted.

Finance Minister Veronica Sireteanu today ended her mandate, in the context of going on maternity leave.
