Chisinau, 28 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Increased number of Chinese tourists could create prerequisites to open a direct air route between China and the Republic of Moldova. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Moldova Yan Wenbin made the statement in an exclusive interview with MOLDPRES State News Agency.
According to the official, it is gratifying that exchanges of people and cooperation in the interpersonal field between China and Moldova are becoming closer. "Currently, more and more Moldovans are interested in learning Chinese and go to China to study, work or start their own business. Number of mixed marriages between Chinese and Moldovans has also increased," said Yan Wenbin.
The ambassador said that cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and the Republic of Moldova in various forms are gradually gaining scale. "Last year, the Chinese Embassy organized events such as the Chinese Film Festival and the Chinese Music Concert. This year, the famous National Symphony Orchestra of Teleradio-Moldova company will make a tour in China. Moldova has rich tourist resources, and Chinese tourists have an extremely high purchasing power. If more Chinese tourists choose to visit Moldova, this might have a significant impact on the development of related sectors in Moldova. For this purpose, the Chinese Embassy coordinates and works actively with the relevant authorities and enterprises in China and Moldova. Our ideal goal would be that with the increased number of Chinese tourists, a direct air route between China and Moldova would eventually be opened", said Yan Wenbin.
He also said that in the first part of September, Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan visited China, and attended the 6th Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo. On this occasion, China and Moldova have planned a roadmap for cultural and tourism cooperation between the two countries in the next stage.
