Energocom company extends area of work on European energy market

Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Energocom Company extents its area  of work on the European energy market. The company has recently finished the procedure of registration at the operators of natural gas transport systems from Slovakia and Austria.   

This will allow the access to the virtual points of trading from the two states, giving possibility to carry natural gas to Moldova, diversifying both the sources of supply and the transport routes.

Presently, Energocom is in the process of registration at Central Europe Gas Hub – exchange from Austria and at Baumgarten – gas deposit from Austria, which will give more opportunities of procuring natural gas and will allow its stocking also in other underground deposits than the ones from Romania and Ukraine.  

Energocom noted that it was looking for new sources of supply, in order to ensure Moldova’s energy security and provide the consumers with energy resources at advantageous prices. In June-July this year, based on requests by the Moldovagaz stock company, Energocom carried out more tenders, during which it procured about 300 million cubic metres of natural gas from its own sources. A part of the gas is meant for current consumption and another one was stored in underground deposits from Romania and Ukraine and is to be used in the 2023-2024 cold season.
