Chisinau, 29 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- To facilitate Chinese investment in Moldova and achieve significant results as soon as possible, the first thing to be done is to allow more Chinese investors to have a more comprehensive and deeper understanding of the investment environment and potential in Moldova. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Moldova Yan Wenbin made the statement in an exclusive interview with MOLDPRES State News Agency, in the context of the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China on October 1.

The ambassador said "currently, Chinese investments in Moldova are very limited, a situation that must change as quickly as possible".

“This is also a priority for the Chinese Embassy and for me as ambassador. Moldova needs foreign investment and technology, and China is one of the world's largest technology investors and exporters. Collaboration in the investments has significant potential, especially in the key development sectors of Moldova, such as agriculture, processing of agricultural products, digitalization, transport and communication infrastructure, as well as renewable energies", the Ambassador said.

The diplomat also said he is confident that "Moldova will offer Chinese investors a fair and non-discriminatory business environment".

According to official statistics, last year the trade between China and Moldova reached 957 million US dollars, and in the first half of this year it reached 463 million US dollars, up by 11.88% compared to the same period of the previous year.
