Chisinau, 29 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Regulation on carrying out cross-border missions with ambulances of the mobile emergency service for resuscitation and extrication (SMURD) was published in the Official Journal today.
The project aims at regulating and standardizing the involvement of paramedic teams with SMURD ambulances from the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), as well as increasing the legally applicable procedures in performing special international missions.
The document sees that cross-border missions with SMURD ambulances are meant to transport victims of serious accidents to specialized medical and sanitary institutions in the country of origin, to ensure continuity of treatment.
Under the Regulation, the necessary expenses for participating in missions with SMURD ambulances are made from the allocations provided annually to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the state budget. Financing of participation in cross-border missions with SMURD ambulances can be ensured including from the account of insurance companies, external assistance, as well as with the support of international humanitarian institutions.
