JICA donated neonatal ventilators to two medical institutions of Moldova

Chisinau, 29 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Research Institute for Mother and Child Health Care and Timofei Moșneaga Republican Clinical Hospital received seven neonatal ventilators donated by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

JICA Ukraine Office team has recently visited the two medical institutions in our country to observe the installation and operational status of the new equipment. The team had the opportunity to observe the equipment in the hospital and discussed the use of neonatal ventilators with doctors and engineers.

The donation is part of a larger program to strengthen the medical system in our country, with a total budget of around seven million dollars, within which in 2023-2024, JICA will donate more medical equipment to hospitals in the Republic of Moldova.

JICA's assistance aims to strengthen the healthcare system in Moldova, given the large number of refugees who have fled the war in Ukraine. Moldovan government continues to provide full medical support to those in need, and JICA will support the authorities' efforts.
