Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/ - The agenda of reforms in the economic and energy sectors, as well as possibilities of extending the Moldovan-German commercial and economic cooperation have been discussed at a meeting of Prime Minister Dorin Recean with Germany’s Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Svenja Schulze, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The officials discussed the identification of fields of cooperation for the sustainable and economic development of Moldova. PM Dorin Recean said the government was undertaking measures necessary for improving the investment climate in Moldova and shared concrete initiatives due to be implemented with Germany’s support in the near future.

Also, the prime minister noted that the European integration was the country project of Moldova and that the country was relying on Germany’s backing for opening the negotiations on accession to EU in next December.

„We become more connected to Europe through the bilateral agreements which we have and through the identification of new fields of cooperation for the sustainable and economic cooperation, including with Germany. We are thus grateful for the support which we receive, including through the Moldova Support Platform, which will take place in Chisinau on 17 October,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.

Minister Svenja Schulze reiterated the support by the German authorities of the efforts of Moldova’s European modernization, as well as the resilience with which the country backs Ukraine, in the context of Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine.
