Co-heads of Moldovan-Ukrainian joint intergovernmental commission for economic and commercial cooperation meet in Odessa

Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, co-head of the Moldovan-Ukrainian joint intergovernmental commission for economic and commercial cooperation Oleg Serebrian today met Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, co-head of the commission on behalf of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk. The meeting took place in Odessa and the heads of the two delegations were accompanied by decision-makers from more competent institutions of the two countries, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.  

The participants in the meeting tackled subjects on the bilateral cooperation in the energy field, delivery of gas, inclusion in the European system of land and railway infrastructure. Also, the sides agreed to boost and deepen the partnership between the customs services and border police; this will allow increasing the flow of goods at the crossing points between the two countries, as well as improving the quality of services provided to the citizens who cross the border. In the presence of the co-heads of the commission, the participants in the meeting signed a bilateral agreement in the phyto-sanitary control sector between the National Food Safety Agency of Moldova and its counterpart institution from Ukraine.     

In the end, the sides agreed on the convening of the next meeting of the Moldovan-Ukrainian joint intergovernmental commission for economic and commercial cooperation in Chisinau in second half of the 2024 year.
