12:59 | 30.09.2023 Category: Social

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/ - The procedure of medical examination of drivers or candidates for getting the driver’s licence has been simplified. Thus, the needed examinations and certificates will be made by the family physician. The measures introduced enter into force starting from 1 October 2023.

According to the Health Ministry, the amendments simplify and de-bureaucratize the medical examination of drivers and candidates, which will be carried out by the family physician, at a request by the applicant. The information on the problems of mental health or those dealing with the drugs and alcohol will be delivered by the community mental health centres and the Republican Narcology Health Centre to the family physicians, based on the latter’s request, on a period of three working days at the latest.

If the family physician finds out that the applicant is under medical supervision for one or more diseases or ascertains risks and dangers which can appear while driving vehicles, the territorial medical commission for examination of drivers, which includes specialists of narrow specialization, will deal with him/her.

As for the getting of the driver’s licence from the group II professionals, the medical examination will be carried out, in continuation, within the territorial commissions of drivers’ medical examination.

The people who are not registered on the list of a family physician will undergo the medical examination also within these commissions.
