Moldova's Agency of Intervention and Payments for Agriculture receives over 3,700 files on asking for external financial, humanitarian assistance

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Agency of Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA) has finished the process of reception of applications on asking for assistance for the farmers hit by drought and the consequences of the crises from 2022. As a result, 3,744 applications on demanding external financial and humanitarian assistance – diesel – have been received.
Thus, during 24 August – 29 September 2023, AIPA received 2,201 applications for the providing of financial support, of which 330 applications were submitted on the last day. Most requests for financial support were submitted by farmers from the districts of Cahul, Comrat, Edinet, Rascani and Causeni.
At the same time, 1,543 files on asking for external humanitarian aid (diesel) were submitted to the AIPA territorial departments. From the regional viewpoint, most requests were received from the districts of Causeni, Cahul, Ceadar-Lunga, Falesti, Comrat and Cimislia.
AIPA noted that the size of the financial support would be established following the examination of all applications on asking for assistance. At the same time, the diesel will be distributed based on a decision by the inter-departmental commission for humanitarian assistance and will be released by the Material Reserves Agency subordinated to the Interior Ministry.
