Electoral body rejects Marina Tauber's registration as independent candidate for Balti mayor

Chisinau, Oct. 6 /MOLDPRES/- Balti Municipal Electoral District Electoral Council No2 has rejected Marina Tauber's registration as an independent candidate for Balti mayor.

The decision was taken based on the 4 October order of the Commission for Emergency Situations, as Marina Tauber "falls under the suspected, accused or indicted of committing crimes that were mentioned as an argument for declaring the political party unconstitutional".

Under the decision of the electoral body, "Marina Tauber is within the people who were excluded from the previous elections as a result of the violation of the principle of transparent financing, and this was an argument for declaring the political party unconstitutional".

Marina Tauber said "the electoral body ruling was challenged at the Chisinau Court of Appeal".
