Fuel prices down

Chisinau, Oct. 6 /MOLDPRES/- The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) records this week a decrease in the retail prices of petroleum products, especially petrol.

Thus, COR 95 petrol has been cheaper by 1.78 lei/liter in the last two weeks. At the same time, due to the maintenance of higher demand for diesel fuel during this period, the price of standard diesel fuel decreased by 0.40 lei/liter.

For the next three days, ANRE set the maximum retail prices of the main standard petroleum products at the level of: 25.15 lei/liter - for COR 95 petrol (- 0.32 lei) and 24.43 lei/liter - for standard diesel (- 0.21 lei).

ANRE noted that in the Republic of Moldova the level of prices for oil products depends only on the developments recorded on the international market, excluding any possibility of intervention by oil companies in the process of their establishment. Current legislation guarantees consumers that both increases and decreases in retail prices for petrol and diesel are in strict correlation with the level of Platts quotations for these products.
