Energocom purchased around 280 million cubic meters of gas from seven different companies

Chisinau, Oct. 6 /MOLDPRES/- On September 4 - October 5, Energocom company purchased about 3 million MWh of natural gas (about 280 million cubic meters of gas) from seven different companies, at three different delivery points.

According to Energocom, the average price was 35.77 EUR/MWh (about 420 USD/1000 m3). To this price will be added the costs of transportation to the warehouse, injection, storage, extraction and transportation to the Republic of Moldova, when these gases are needed.

The purchases were made from the account of the credit offered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), fully using the instalment of 100 million euros (second cycle of use).

Under the EBRD agreement, 30 tender rounds were organized during the last month, and purchases were made when the price on international markets was favorable.

This volume also includes the approximately 100 million m3 purchased at the beginning of September from the Greek company DEPA. Thus, in total, stocks of over 500 million m3 were procured and the purchase continues with the intention of fully covering consumption for the cold period.
