Foreign ministry: Moldovan citizens on Israeli territory not affected due to war in Israel

Chisinau, Oct. 9 /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan citizens who are in Israel did not suffer as a result of the war in Israel. The statements were made during a briefing held today by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE) jointly with Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Israel Alexandru Roitman.

According to the ministry, the visas of Moldovan citizens were automatically extended. The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Israel is on high alert, only emergency consular services are provided, such as issuing travel documents.

"If it will be necessary to evacuate the citizens, they will be evacuated, but at the moment we are not at that stage", ministry's adviser for communication Igor Zaharov said.

At the same time, Moldovan citizens who want to leave Israel can use the available routes that go to Chisinau, Bucharest or other cities from which they can travel more easily to the Republic of Moldova.

According to the ambassador, about 13 thousand Moldovan citizens are settled in Israel, of which 7 thousand work in the construction.
