General local elections in Moldova: Central Electoral Commission accredits 158 national, international observers to monitor ballot

Chisinau, 9 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC), at a today’s meeting, accredited 158 people as national and international observers and confirmed more journalists for the monitoring and coverage of the general local elections.

According to CEC, five people were accredited as international observers on behalf the Central Electoral Commission of Uzbekistan and Central Electoral Commission of Kazakhstan. At the same time, CEC accredited, as national observers, 151 people on behalf of the Promo-LEX public association and two persons on behalf of the public association ADEPT Association for Participatory Democracy.

Also, the Commission confirmed three journalists on behalf of a periodical publication for the coverage and monitoring of the general local elections.

The general local elections will be held on 5 November this year.
