Moldovan president visits Ignăței, Ghiduleni villages

Chisinau, Oct. 11 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu went to the opening of the renovated 36.5 km road sector, which crosses 2 districts - Rezina and Telenești, connects 8 villages and is used by over 15,000 inhabitants, the presidential press service has reported.

"People have been waiting for the repair of this sector for 10 years, and the current Government has unlocked and completed this important infrastructure project. European roads mean traffic in safe conditions, increased trade and a modern road network", said the president.

The head of state also met residents of the villages of Ignăței and Ghiduleni, Rezina district, where she discussed the implementation of important projects for the inhabitants through the European Village Program. "These are things expected for a long time, but natural and necessary to improve the living conditions of the villagers. In Ghiduleni, the aqueduct networks were extended, thus several households will have tap water for the first time, and the construction of a playground has begun," said Maia Sandu.

Also, in Ignăței, almost 600 households, the high school, the kindergarten, the health center, the town hall will benefit from a main sewage network and a sewage treatment plant - projects financed from the European Village program. "I appreciated the involvement of Ignăței residents in the national afforestation program - the villagers planted over 120 hectares of forest," said the president.
