Business environment to benefit from new measures to reduce bureaucracy and facilitate activity

Chisinau, Oct. 12 /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba today presented a new package to reduce bureaucracy in order to facilitate the activity of the business environment.

"Entrepreneurs will save about half a billion lei (25 million euros) annually or 0.2% of GDP, following reducing tax and customs bureaucracy. The draft law, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, will exclude some administrative barriers and unjustified requirements and will contribute to facilitating the activity of the business environment", he said.

According to the deputy prime minister, the provisions in the customs field also refer to the introduction of online declaration forms for goods brought in and out of the territory of the Republic of Moldova through international postal items. In the fiscal field, it was foreseen to increase the amount considered arrears for tax purposes from 100 to 500 lei and establish the right to deduct VAT for purchases of goods and services made through the business payment card, if their value does not exceed 2000 lei , including VAT.

"Some constraints and bureaucratic provisions in business development have been identified and resolved, which will simplify the burden on economic agents by approximately half a billion lei annually. The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization, along with other state institutions, continues to promote business-friendly reforms. We offer them more space and more freedom to develop, invest and create well-paid jobs in the Republic of Moldova", he said.

The legislative amendments were set up by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, in collaboration with the Economic Council under the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, with the support of the United Nations Development Program and the German International Cooperation Agency.
