GENERAL LOCAL ELECTIONS-2023: Synthesis of 12 October day

Chisinau, 12 October /MOLDPRES/ - The today’s, 12 October, electoral agenda included a news conference by candidate Victor Chironda on the subject, Victor Chironda and the Dignity and Truth Platform call on the pro-European patties to save the pro-European course of Moldova. The Dignity and Truth Platform says that, by voting their candidate, they will vote for a ‘’Chisinau free of lies, for clear and bright, European future!’’ Force Moldova! was the leit motif of the rally.
The president of the National Alternative Movement Party, Ion Ceban, gave a news conference today too. He unveiled the situation of the Chisinau city’s suburbs, showing the vulnerable points, as well as the successful ones of the settlements managed by the Chisinau city hall.
The team of Our Party today presented its team for the Chisinau Municipal Council. The formation’s leader, Renato Usatii, said the formation he represents opted for ‘’soul and community, for Chisinau and Chisinau residents.’’
Also today, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) confirmed the people in charge of finances (treasurers) of five political parties for the period of the electoral campaign of the general local polls due on 5 November 2023. Thus, CEC confirmed the treasurers of the following political formations: Democracy at Home Political Party, Political Party Green Ecologist Party, We Political Party, National Liberal Party and Party of Change Political Party.
The political parties and electoral blocs which nominated the candidates for the local elections open at the bank an account titled, Electoral Fund, and the person competent with the finances (treasurer), based on the flow of the means from this account, ensures the compilation of reports on the financing of the electoral campaign and their submission to the electoral body on term.
The electoral contender and treasurer bear responsibility for the correctness, authenticity and up-to-dateness of the data and information presented, as well as for its non-presentation.
Also today, CEC accredited 137 national and 13 international observers for the monitoring of the general local elections. The national observers represent the Promo-LEX public association and the international observers were accredited at a request by the Targu Neamt Pro Democracy Club Association and of several diplomatic missions accredited in Moldova: Embassy of the Netherlands, Embassy of Finland, Embassy of France and Embassy of Austria.
For the first time for a campaign of informing voters, CEC edited informative materials in more languages of ethnic minorities. The Central Electoral Commission worked out and edited more informative materials in five languages of the ethnic minorities: Russian, Ukrainian, Gagauz, Bulgarian and Romany. ‘’The guide of voter at the general local elections from 5 November 2023’’ and the informative folder contain information on the ballot due this autumn. The voters can learn whom they will elect, who can and who cannot participate in the voting, based on which acts people vote, which is the voting procedure, how they should act, if they notice an unlawful act, etc.
