Chisinau, Oct. 17 /MOLDPRES/- Moldova has recently managed to achieve impressive results and face many challenges, but now more than ever, the country needs international assistance. Minister of Foreign Affairs of France Catherine Colonna made the statement today in Chisinau.
"Winter is coming. I announce the contribution of 300 million euros in addition to finance projects in various fields. In the long term, we support Moldova's strategy to focus on infrastructure, connectivity and structural reforms because these are key elements to bring the country closer to the EU", said Catherine Colonna.
The French diplomat said that the Platform represents a symbol of solidarity and support for Moldova. "This support materialized in several ways: grants, funding, technical assistance, support to stabilize the economy and maintain social services. The situation has evolved considerably since we met in Paris a year ago. Moldova has recorded impressive results, but Russia's aggression continues to send shock waves to Moldova and Europe. The situation remains extremely volatile, and this conflict is already exceeding Moldova's resources and stretching them to the maximum. In this context, European and international assistance is needed now more than ever, to help the population and the economy", the official said.
The official also added that France will support Moldova and remains our country's partner for medium and long-term needs.
Today, Chisinau is hosting the fourth edition of Moldova Support Platform initiated by France, Germany and Romania.
