Chisinau, 26 October /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s Delegation, at a today’s meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC), demanded explanations on the works carried out in unauthorized way between the Varnita village and Bender city, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
The incomplete report of the Joint Military Command for the previous week was not signed, for reasons that Tiraspol’s representatives blocked the documentation of the changes made in the infrastructure of the posts of the Transnistrian structures placed at the entrance into the Bender city.
The central subject tackled by the Moldovan delegation regarded the continuation of the illicit actions of limiting the free movement in the Security Zone. The Transnistrian region’s representative refused to give explanations on the unauthorized works carried out on the road connecting the Bender and Varnita.
Therefore, Chisinau’s delegation set forth its position in a statement spread to the participants in the Joint Control Commission, thereby describing these actions as provocative, groundless and inadmissible. The Moldovan delegation reminded that the unconstitutional power wielding structures for more years had tried diverse illegal ways to close the movement on this segment, as well as to strengthen their infrastructure on the entire perimeter of the Security Zone, through the setting of additional modules and the video supervision system, arranging grounds, setting of fixed or mobile posts, etc.
Chisinau has constantly demanded, on the platform of the Joint Control Commission, the documentation of the unilateral measures and the removal of the posts and obstacles set on the road. The lack of the prompt reaction on behalf of JCC to such illegal actions proves the low efficiency of the current mechanisms on the sidelines of the peacekeeping operation at Dniester. Backed by the Russian component in the Joint Military Command and making abuse of the principle of consensus in taking decisions, Tiraspol’s representatives hinder the work of the military observers to fix, under the regulation, the changes of the situation in the area of responsibility, including the measures undertaken for consolidating the posts. This information is not covered in the weekly reports; respectively, it cannot be discussed at JCC’s meetings.
Moldova’s delegation repeatedly called on all JCC components to fully enforce the mechanisms of the peacekeeping operation, referring, in particular, to the instruments which allow the documentation of the infringements admitted, as well as to adopt a decision able to exclude any unilateral actions which worsen the situation in the Security Zone and discredits this operation completely.
