Moldovan president consults draft of National Security Strategy with representatives of civil society, diplomatic missions

Chisinau, 26 October /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had discussions on the document of draft National Security Strategy and noted the proposals on its improvement. Attending the discussions were representatives of the civil society and members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Chisinau, the presidential press service has reported.     

The head of state thanked the experts from the civil society for the support provided in the context of the strategy’s elaboration. President Maia Sandu emphasized the importance of the Strategy for Moldova, given that, for the first time ever, the threats against Moldova are clearly named in it and the integrated approach in the sector of national security and defence is introduced.    

The Moldovan president called on the representatives of the civil society and diplomatic missions to continue to closely work with the state’s institutions for strengthening the national consensus on issues of security, as well as in the implementation of the strategy, after it is discussed and approved in parliament.
