Chisinau, 8 November /MOLDPRES/ - Fours laws adopted in the context of the implementation of the justice reform will be brought in line with the recommendations made by the Venice Commission. The parliament’s commission for justice, appointments and immunities approved a draft law to this effect today.
Thus, based on Venice Commission’s recommendations, the law on the external evaluation of the judges and prosecutors will be amended. The amendments have the goal to avoid the repeated organization of contests for the leadership offices in the system of prosecutor’s office and the judicial one, if the winner candidate fails to pass the evaluation.
Also, based on the Venice Commission’s opinion, the Law on the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) is suggested to be amended, in order to de-block the CSJ’s work as regards the issuance of consultative opinions in the criminal procedure of unification of the judicial practice.
The authors also propose the amendment of the law on measures related to the selection of candidates for the office of member in the bodies of self-management of judges and prosecutors, as well as to the law on the external evaluation of judges and candidates to the office of judge of the Supreme Court of Justice.
