Sculeni customs post to be expanded

Chisinau, Nov. 15 /MOLDPRES/- Sculeni customs post will be expanded and endowed with modern equipment that will contribute to the efficiency of customs control and the flow of goods traffic at the Moldovan-Romanian border crossing point. The Ministry of the Environment transferred two forest lands to the Customs Service administration, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The expansion and reconstruction of the Sculeni border crossing will be carried out by the Customs Service, supported by external partners, who will contribute to equipping the border crossing point with all the necessary equipment, including the X-ray scanning system for goods and transport.
The infrastructure project is of strategic importance for the development of the border area between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, and its expansion and modernization will contribute to improving the conditions in which customs control is carried out, according to international standards. Reconstruction of the Moldovan-Romanian crossing point Sculeni is also provided for in the Agreement concluded between the governments of Moldova and Romania, financed by the European Union.
