DOC Low emission development program until 2030 published in Official Journal

Chisinau, Nov. 16 /MOLDPRES/- The low emission development program until 2030 was published in the Official Journal today.
Key actions to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions were identified in the program for sectors such as energy, transport, buildings, industrial processes, agriculture, land use, forestry and waste.
The actions focus on the principles of the green economy, including energy efficiency, the development of renewable sources, the application of high-performance cement and glass production technologies, conservation agriculture, afforestation and efficient waste management.
According to the Paris Agreement, in 2015 the Republic of Moldova assumed, through the Determined National Contribution (CND1), the commitment to achieve by 2030 the unconditional target of reducing GHG emissions by 64% compared to 1990 levels and the conditional reduction target of 78%, with the support of international donors.
