Prosecutors requested applying preventive measures in case of magistrates investigated for corruption

Chisinau, Nov. 16 /MOLDPRES/- Bălți Court judges are going to consider the anti-corruption prosecutors' claims on preventive measures regarding the judges detained on November 14, 2023.

According to the Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office, the prosecutors requested the preventive arrest of one judge, who was charged with three counts of influence peddling and one count of passive corruption, and in the case of the second magistrate - house arrest for a period of 30 days, being charged with influence peddling.

Yesterday, the magistrates, concerned in a criminal case on passive corruption and influence peddling were notified of the order as suspect.

On November 14, 2023, the Plenary of the Superior Council of Magistracy admitted the four notifications of the interim General Prosecutor, requesting the release of the agreement on criminal prosecution actions regarding some judges, investigated by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
