Chisinau, 16 November /MOLDPRES/ - Over 200 economic agents have participated in an information session for taking knowledge of the amendments due to be introduced with the entrance into force of the new Customs Code on 1 January 2024.
The event was held for a better understanding and enforcement of the new provisions, as well as for an exchange of information and opinions, in order to improve the services provided to the business environment. Thus, representatives of the Customs Service said that, with the adjusting of the customs procedures with the EU’s ones, the business environment would have more benefits. At the same time, through the use of modern instruments and technologies of customs control, the interaction with the customs employees will be diminished and a paperless and fully automated activity system will be implemented.
At the event, the head of the Customs Service, Igor Talmazan, stressed that the new Customs Code included the transposition of European directives. ‘’We want to familiarize the economic agents with the new provisions. The new Customs Code is adjusted to all EU’s mechanisms, as Moldova has more commitments in the European integration process. I assure you that the new provisions will not block the economy, but will facilitate the trade. They are in favour of the business environment,’’ Igor Talmazan said.
The Customs Service organized seven information sessions in physical format and 13 online on the provisions of the new Customs Code. The information campaign is carried out with the European Union’s support, through the High-Level EU Advisers Mission project.
