Moldovan parliament speaker, Austrian president discuss Moldova's commitment to firmly advance on European way

Chisinau, 16 November /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today had a meeting with Federal President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen, on a visit to Moldova. At the meeting, the officials discussed the bilateral and the parliamentary agenda, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
„In the last years, our countries have enjoyed a strong partnership. Just on the days to come, I will go to Vienna on an official visit, at an invitation by my counterpart,’’ the speaker said.
The officials touched upon Moldova’s commitment to firmly advance on the European way, the justice reform, fighting corruption and misinformation, as key priorities. „I appreciate the support of Mr. President in the process of Moldova’s European integration. We are aware that we have a unique moment now and we will do our utmost to use this opportunity for our citizens and we rely on a positive decision on behalf of Austria at the meeting of the European Council due on 14-15 December,’’ Igor Grosu said.
Another important agenda on the agenda of discussions was the attraction of Austrian investments to Moldova in such sectors as green energy, agriculture, industry, medicine, education. The Austrian experience will be presented at a Moldovan-Austrian economic forum, due in Chisinau on 17 November and in which 20 Austrian companies will participate.
