Central Electoral Commission instructs recounting of ballot papers in two settlements of Moldova

Chisinau, 20 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today instructed the recounting of the votes for the office of mayor of the Hajdieni village, Glodeni district and Sanatauca village, Floresti village, expressed at the first round of the general local elections on 5 November 2023.

The decision was approved in the context of a decision by the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) from 18 November this year, under which decision-makers admitted the appeals submitted by the Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova on the partial cancellation of the CEC decision No 1575 from 10 November this year, On several applications and contestations demanding the instruction of the recounting of voters, submitted to CEC on 7-9 November this year, and CEC was obliged to instruct the recounting of the ballot papers in these electoral constituencies.

The procedure of recounting will be carried out on 21 November 2023 at the latest and the result of this process will be brought to the knowledge of the Commission on 22 November at the latest.
