Moldelectrica became ENTSO-E observer member

Chisinau, Nov. 23 /MOLDPRES/- Moldelectrica state-owned enterprise became an observer member of ENTSO-E (European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity), after signing an official agreement on Wednesday.
Moldelectrica becomes an integral part of the European community of transmission system operators (TSOs), which aims to share knowledge, promote innovation and contribute to a sustainable energy infrastructure in Europe.
Joining ENTSO-E represents a significant evolution for Moldelectrica and will contribute to strengthening relations with electricity transmission operators in the EU, as well as to Moldelectrica's active participation in the development and implementation of European standards and practices in the energy sector.
Moldelectrica acting director Sergiu Aparatu said that by obtaining the status of observer member at ENTSO-E, relations with electricity transmission operators in Europe are strengthened.
ENTSO-E president Zbyněk Boldiš said that the Agreement formalizes the support and solidarity of ENTSO-E towards Moldelectrica and represents a recognition of the efforts made to maintain the stability of the energy transmission system of Moldova in difficult conditions.
ENTSO-E is a European network of transmission system operators for electricity. The 39 member TSOs, representing 35 countries, are responsible for the safe and coordinated operation of Europe's interconnected electricity system, the largest interconnected electricity grid in the world. Last spring, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine completed the synchronization process at the European energy network ENTSO-E.
