Over 700,000 Moldovan households ask for compensations for energy on cold period of year

Chisinau, 24 November /MOLDPRES/ - More than 700,000 households have asked for compensations for the cold period of the year.   

According to the Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MMPS), about 32,000 applications were submitted in the last 24 hours. ‘’It is necessary that people fill in the application online till 25 November, in order to benefit from compensations including for November. Citizens will be able to submit applications also after this date; yet, the compensations will be provided starting from next December,’’ MMPS said.     

At the same time, starting from 26 November, the information system will start processing the applications and assigning the energy vulnerability categories. Citizens will be able to learn their vulnerability degree in the personal office on the platform www.compensatii.gov.md on the first days of next December.     

Starting from 1 November 2023, the citizens can register on the platform www.compensatii.gov.md, in order to benefit from financial support on behalf of the state on the 2023-2024 cold season. This year, people will benefit from two types of compensations – in invoice and in monetary form - assistance for the cold period of the year worth 800 lei, for the households who heat their homes with wood or coal. In 2023, there will be seven energy vulnerability categories: primary, extreme, quite high, high, medium, low and without vulnerability.
